Cots & Cot Beds

Choosing a place for your new baby to sleep is one of the most important and exciting jobs for parents-to-be.

Opting for a cot bed ensures you have something to grow with your child. There are several mattress heights on our models. The highest, and the one you’ll start at, makes it easier to lay your sleeping baby down. Once your baby becomes more mobile and can sit up unaided, the mattress lowers to keep your child safely contained. By the time they are walking, put the mattress at the lowest height and eventually remove the sides altogether.

Our cots come in various colours and finishes to complement all nursery decors, including high gloss finishes and natural wood. There are several styles available, from the ultra-modern BabyStyle Aspen cot bed (H85 x W78 x L149cm) to the chic and stylish Izziwotnot Bailey Sleigh Cot Bed (H100 x W77 x L158cm) and contemporary styled BabyStyle Bordeaux cot bed (H82.5 x W79 x L151cm).

All three of these cot beds fit standard mattresses at 70 x 140cm and convert to a toddler bed once your child outgrows the cot. The beds in our range are also fitted with a teething rail along each side; this hard plastic cover does not detract from the look of the bed, but it does protect your little person from splinters.

Current medical advice dictates that babies are put to bed ‘feet to foot,’ i.e. with their feet at the bottom of the bed. This means blankets can be tucked in and the risk of babies wriggling underneath and overheating are minimised. Another safety recommendation is to add a cot bumper across the railings to prevent limbs getting caught.

My Crib Rocks sells much more for the nursery and beyond, and should you need help constructing your cot, (they come flat-packed) we can recommend joiners. Please come into the shop and have a look around, or alternatively, contact us for more information.
